I toured three regional farms on Sunday as part of the Market Square Farmer's Market "To the Source" farm tours. And aside from getting muddy, it was a great experience. It was interesting to hear how the farmers are trying to stay as natural as possible in growing their produce. You won't here of too much chemicals being used by them.
If you are interested in future farm tours, visit the their web site. And who knows, you could see me on a future tour too!
Below are some photos of the tour.

Fields of strawberries from Tidwell's Berry Farm.

Strawberries for purchase from Tidwell's Berry Farm. You can't beat the price at $2.45 a quart.

Chickens running amok at River Ridge Farms.

The cute but smelly pigs at River Ridge Farms. They had installed an electric fence around the enclosure, and it sucked to watch the pigs not remember the fence being there and therefore be slightly jolted and squeal from the small shock.

Freshly picked eggs from the hens at River Ridge Farms.
